Arttu Rantakoski ‘It is great to be part of a responsible company’
I work in raw materials sourcing as a Purchasing assistant. My daily routines include receiving and recording incoming raw material loads as well as checking the raw material invoices. Recording the PECF-% of the raw material is part of my work. On a weekly basis, I plan and agree with the sawmills the arrival dates for the raw material deliveries. In cooperation with Iisalmi’s production planner, we also arrange planing subcontracting.
After graduating in logistics, I was able to continue the logistics path directly to Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences. After my studies in Jyväskylä, I worked for a while at the board pulp mill in Kaskinen and then started at Lunawood.
At the University of Applied Sciences, I specialized in transport and procurement for a degree in logistics. When my studies were almost finnished, I applied to Lunawood for the first time. I didn’t get the job at that time, but got a good feeling about Lunawood and thought that there might be other positions opening later. There was and now I work in my current role.
At Lunawood, I appreciate the company valuing and trusting its employees. Lunawood is ecological and responsible, and a pioneer and market leader in its field. It is great to be part of a company that makes a high quality, pure and responsible product with professionalism and pride.
The most rewarding part of the job is seeing the raw material I am involved in sourcing turn into a fine thermally treated wood in our production chain.
