A-Frame Lodge, Pennsylvania

Architect
Zook Cabins
Location
Airville, Pennsylvania
Year
2025

Set into the hillside of Airville, Pennsylvania, this A-Frame Lodge by Zook Cabins is designed as a peaceful mountain retreat. Surrounded by forest and accompanied by the gentle sound of a nearby stream, the cabin offers a strong connection to nature and a setting for rest and recovery.

The iconic A-frame structure is defined by clean lines and natural materials, allowing the building to blend seamlessly into its surroundings. Lunawood ThermoWood® exterior cladding brings a warm, natural expression while ensuring durability in varying weather conditions. Left untreated, the wood will develop a silver-grey patina over time, further anchoring the cabin into the landscape.

Outdoor spaces are designed for year-round enjoyment. A spacious terrace with seating and a gas fire pit invites quiet mornings and relaxed evenings, while additional features such as a wood-fired sauna, in-ground hot tub, and multiple fire pits create opportunities to unwind and reconnect.

Inside, large A-frame windows frame the surrounding mountain views and fill the interior with natural light. The living area offers a comfortable and inviting atmosphere, with soft furnishings and open space for gathering.

The cabin includes two bedrooms with king-size beds, offering privacy and comfort. The main level provides accessible accommodation, while the upper floor features a primary suite with elevated views, a private workspace, and an en-suite bathroom. A loft area adds flexibility for additional guests.

The result is a timeless and functional retreat—an environment where architecture, materials, and landscape come together to support a slower pace of living and meaningful experiences in nature.
