Lars Sauna V1 is a prefabricated outdoor sauna developed by Lars Sauna, a Canadian company based on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. Inspired by authentic Finnish sauna design principles, the project focuses on performance, longevity, and a high-quality user experience—without compromising on natural materials.
The design is defined by clean lines and a restrained palette, creating a balance between rustic and contemporary. The sauna presents a quiet and understated appearance, while closer inspection reveals a strong sense of craftsmanship and detail.
Designed to integrate seamlessly into a variety of settings—from forests to coastal landscapes and private backyards—the sauna sits naturally within its environment. Lunawood ThermoWood® exterior will gradually develop a silver-grey patina over time, allowing the building to further blend into its surroundings.
Luna Panel System made from Nordic pine is used for both the exterior cladding and duckboard flooring. The material provides a refined yet natural expression, combined with excellent durability in demanding climates. From freezing winter conditions to coastal humidity, Lunawood ensures long-term performance with minimal maintenance.
The use of Lunawood enhances the tactile and visual qualities of the sauna. The natural knots and warm tones create an organic, living surface that connects the structure to nature, while maintaining a premium and timeless appearance.
All wood surfaces are left untreated, allowing the materials to evolve naturally over time.
