Porto Aqua Pavilion

The new water research center in northern Portugal has completely turned around in terms of what it looked like before.

The new Pavilion of the Water awakens curiosity through engaging games. Its characteristics are drawing on the strong connection of the Portuguese culture to rivers and the sea.

Just as water is a natural resource, the choice was easily made to clad the pavilion in natural details of Lunawood Thermowood. Lunawood Thermowood is PEFC certified and uses only trees from well managed Nordic forests. The detail in the pavilion’s design shows the dimensional stability of Lunawood Thermowood. The material is suitable for any climate and supports the mission of Porto’s water research center to educate visitors in clean and natural environments.
