Lunawood’s 2025 Sustainability Report: Key Highlights
Sustainability is embedded into Lunawood’s strategy, operations, and product offering. Our Sustainability Report 2025 outlines the progress made in climate action, circularity, responsible sourcing, and production. Lunawood is committed to developing durable, low-carbon wood solutions for sustainable architecture.
In 2025, Lunawood achieved significant progress across key areas of our sustainability program:
44% Reduction in Emissions
Lunawood reduced its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 44% compared to the 2021 baseline.
This result was driven by increased use of renewable energy and improvements in energy efficiency, exceeding the company’s SBTi-validated target of a 42% reduction by 2030 and contributing to our goal to reach carbon neutrality by 2035.
100% Renewable Electricity
All electricity used in Lunawood’s production in 2025 was sourced from renewable sources.
In total, 70% of production energy came from renewable sources, including biomass and green electricity.
Best from Dust innovation Challenge
Together with the Bioboosters business accelerator we organized Best from Dust innovation challenge to explore new circular ideas and solutions for ThermoWood® dust. We identified several potential solutions that we will continue testing during 2026.
Responsible and Certified Sourcing
All Nordic raw materials were sourced from certified or controlled-origin forests, with 98% certified wood used in 2025. Lunawood holds both FSC® and PEFC Chain of Custody certifications.
Recognition at Plus X Awards
Luna Aalto and Luna Triple received international recognition at the Plus X Awards, and Lunawood was named Best Brand of the Year in the wood category.
