Lunawood Awarded Kauppalehti’s Achiever and Growth Company Certificates
Lunawood, a global market leader in thermowood and thermowood composite, has received Achiever certification from Kauppalehti – a major Finnish financial newspaper, – for the second time. In addition, the company also received the Growth Company certificate, granted to rapidly growing companies.
”It is delightful that the operation of our growing company is recognized with certificates in such demanding analyses. We have continued to consistently implement our growth strategy with the acquisition of Metsä Group’s thermowood business as the latest indication. Our turnover has grown by two-digit figures over the last few years, and our profitability is excellent”, says Lunawood’s CEO Arto Halonen.
According to Kauppalehti, only a small number of Finnish companies are eligible for these certificates. Obtaining the Achiever certificate requires the company’s financial performance to be among the best in its industry and in Finland. The analysis considers various aspects of the candidate companies’ financial performance: growth, profitability, financial result, liquidity, solidity and risk tolerance. The Growth Company certificate is granted to companies whose growth in turnover has exceeded the average of their main industry class by at least 10 percent during the last three-year measurement period and whose turnover continues to grow.
”The cornerstones of our success on our path to growth are committed and skilled staff, innovative and customer-oriented products made by refining wood, a renewable raw material, and responsibility in all we do”, summarizes Halonen.
With the acquisition of Metsä Group’s thermowood business, Lunawood’s turnover is now MEUR 40,
and production capacity 105,000m3. The company employs about 80 persons in Iisalmi, Joensuu, Kaskinen and Lahti, as well as in its main export markets in Europe and Asia.
