Lunawood increases its service capability in the fire protection of ThermoWood®
Lunawood has entered into a partnership with Danish Anti-Fire ApS for the fire protection of thermally modified Lunawood Collection products to fire class B-s1/s2,d0 (EN-15301). Danish Anti-Fire ApS has over eight years of experience in BurnBlock® fire retardant treatment.
Public and high-rise buildings often have stricter fire regulations than small houses or other private buildings. At the same time, architects and designers have realised the positive effects of using wood, both in terms of carbon sequestration and general well-being. Lunawood’s sustainable ThermoWood® profiles, fire protected by Danish Anti-Fire ApS, meet this market need. By working together, we can guarantee a wide range of flexibility and capacity for wood cladding and panelling projects in Europe, explains Maija Masalin, VP Customer Experience at Lunawood. At the same time, she points out that Lunawood will continue its collaboration with Nordic Timber Labs, with whom Lunawood started working on fire protection for Lunawood Thermowood with BurnBlock® impregnation at the end of 2022.
BurnBlock® is a non-toxic, sustainable solution
The BurnBlock® impregnation is an ecological and toxic-free solution. It is also water-based product, made only out of natural substances, fully biodegradable, pH-neutral, non-corrosive, and VOC emission free fire retardant.
