Maintenance-Free Fire-Retardant ThermoWood® Cladding for projects requiring Fire Class B fire classification

Lunawood’s fire-retardant ThermoWood® cladding offers a non-toxic solution for both exterior and interior applications, without the need for maintenance treatments over time.

Lunawood has further improved the availability of its fire-retardant ThermoWood® cladding, enabling shorter lead times for projects requiring Euroclass B (EN 13501-1) performance.

The solution is based on thermally modified Nordic pine or spruce, treated with a deep-penetrating, non-toxic fire retardant. Unlike surface-applied coatings, fire-retardant Lunawood cladding does not require maintenance repainting and maintains its fire classification without additional on-site treatment of cut ends. The material achieves classifications up to B-s1,d0 for flat tongue-and-groove profiles, while 3D Lunawood products are tested to meet fire class B-s2,d0, indicating very limited contribution to fire and low smoke production.

To further improve delivery speed, the fire-retardant Luna Panel System 19×140 cladding is now available directly from Lunawood stock. This tongue-and-groove profile enables efficient installation and a refined, uniform surface with narrow shadow gaps. Stock availability reduces lead time to approximately two weeks.

Fire-retardant Lunawood ThermoWood® cladding is suitable for both façade and interior applications where enhanced fire performance, dimensional stability, and low lifecycle maintenance are required.
