The newly built Charity Slavičín House in Slavičín, Czech Republic, is a modern community center designed by architect Martin Tománek and his team. Completed in 2023, the project reflects a thoughtful approach to architecture, functionality, and sustainability, providing versatile spaces for social and cultural activities. A distinctive feature of the building is its playful herringbone-patterned façade, designed not only to create a dynamic and eye-catching appearance but also to optimize material efficiency, minimizing waste during installation.

The herringbone-patterned facade was created using versatile Lunawood Thermowood® battens. The facade has been left untreated, allowing it to age naturally over time, developing an elegant silver-gray patina that enhances the building’s organic aesthetic. In addition to its visual appeal, Lunawood ThermoWood® provides exceptional weather resistance and requires minimal maintenance, making it an ideal choice for public buildings that prioritize durability and sustainability.

The building stands out for its clean, minimalist architecture, where natural materials and simple geometric forms create a harmonious and timeless aesthetic. The structure is carefully designed to be both functional and inviting, with adaptable spaces that accommodate a variety of events and activities. Thoughtful detailing and material choices ensure that the building integrates seamlessly into its surroundings, reinforcing its role as a welcoming community hub.
