The villa was designed with longevity, ease of maintenance, and natural harmony as guiding principles. Villa Aurinkokallio showcases one of Lunawood’s newest cladding products, Luna Arctic Layer 19×142 Brushed, as the main facade material. Crafted from Nordic Spruce, the cladding features a brushed surface enhanced with a stunning silver-grey finishing. The subtle grey tone and textured surface harmonize beautifully with the natural rock formations and the existing lakeside buildings, creating a timeless, cohesive look.
Seamless Outdoor Comfort with Lunawood ThermoWood®
Extensive multi-level terraces, built with Luna SHP Profix 2 26×140 decking, ensure effortless transitions between the main villa, lakeside sauna, and summer kitchen. Carefully planned elevation levels align with the indoor floors, enhancing accessibility and integrating the indoor and outdoor spaces. A built-in jacuzzi and the seamless flow between terraces highlight both luxury and practicality. Over time, the untreated Lunawood ThermoWood® decking develops a beautiful, naturally greyed surface, matching the facade for a uniform, low-maintenance finish.
Minimalist railings, crafted from Luna SHP 42×140 and 42×92, maintain open views of the lake while ensuring safety on elevated sections. Vertical ThermoWood® battens are also used to create natural shading and cooling on sunny days, bringing both comfort and a refined architectural rhythm to the façades. The absence of glass railings was a deliberate choice to avoid maintenance and preserve the natural aesthetic.
Inside the main building, the sauna walls and ceiling are crafted from Lunawood Thermowood®, creating a warm and calming retreat after a day by the lake.
