OloResort Levi, located in Finnish Lapland, offers accommodation that respects the surrounding nature while providing modern comfort. The architecture is guided by a clear vision: creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. With expansive mirrored windows, heated skylights, and thoughtfully designed communal areas—including a cozy lounge, sauna, outdoor jacuzzi, and restaurant—the resort provides a calm and uninterrupted connection to the northern landscape.
Lunawood ThermoWood® plays a key role in achieving this vision. Known for its natural appearance and dimensional stability, especially in harsh climates, it is a fitting material choice for Arctic environments where performance and aesthetics must go hand in hand.

One Material for Indoors and Outdoors
The main building features Luna Triple 32×140 profiles, used on both exterior and interior surfaces. Using the same material inside and out creates a sense of unity and supports the connection between the building and its surroundings.
Built for Harsh Weather
In Arctic conditions—where temperatures vary greatly between seasons and structures must endure snow, moisture, and frost—material durability is essential. Lunawood ThermoWood® is dimensionally stable, resists warping and cracking, and keeps its appearance over time. It also requires little maintenance, making it a practical choice for remote locations.
Sustainable materials with a balanced visual impact
To match the overall look of the building, some of the Luna Triple panels were painted black on-site. This adds a subtle contrast to the natural brown-toned ThermoWood®. The combination creates a clean and well-balanced façade that fits naturally into the surrounding forest landscape.
In addition to its visual role, Lunawood ThermoWood® supports the resort’s sustainability goals. Made without chemicals and produced using only heat and steam, the material is a natural and responsible choice. Its long service life and minimal maintenance needs reduce the environmental impact over time, making it well suited for projects where long-term responsibility is part of the design brief.
