Creating Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Flow with Lunawood ThermoWood®

Seamlessly connecting indoor and outdoor spaces has become a defining element of modern architecture, bringing harmony, functionality, and a closer connection to nature. Few materials combine the durability, weather resistance, and safety needed for both indoor and outdoor use, but Lunawood ThermoWood® offers exceptional opportunities for achieving a unified and harmonious look.

Using the same material for interiors and exteriors creates a unified and cohesive look, making spaces feel larger and more inviting. Lunawood ThermoWood® is the perfect solution for achieving this flow, offering unmatched durability, weather resistance, and a chemical-free, sustainable alternative. Its natural beauty and versatility allow architects and designers to craft breathtaking and timeless spaces.

In these projects, Lunawood ThermoWood® was utilized indoors and outdoors to create a seamless, uniform flow.

Casa 15, Portugal

Casa 15 was designed by AM-arqstudio, who realized the vision of the house made from a mix of wood, concrete and glass.

The house is flooded with natural light which warms up the space, especially in combination with the wooden interior made from Lunawood Thermowood®. The wooden features are focused on the main floor, to create a dimmer and calmer sleeping space on the upper floor. Continuity and fluidity are the main aspects of design. This is shown as the same sustainable Lunawood Thermowood® is used on the facade outside and continued inside.

Cabin Havsstrand, Finland

Cabin Havsstrand, designed in collaboration with Jani Lahti from PlusArkkitehdit, is completely plastic-free in its construction. The house’s visual design appeals to those who appreciate mid-20th-century architecture.

The elegant Luna Trio panel was selected for all ceiling surfaces, seamlessly blending the inside with the outside, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. For the interior ceilings of the house, the couple wanted a wood material that would support healthy indoor air and uphold ecological values. As the ceiling seamlessly extends from the outside to the inside, it must also withstand various weather conditions. Therefore, ThermoWood® was a perfect fit for the project.

Stay Skyeview by Cameron Custom and Camelot Homes, USA

Skyeview is the culmination of a visionary transformation, where a rundown 1976-era home has been reborn as a 280-square-meter gem, poised majestically atop Camelback Mountain. Inspired by the mesmerizing Arizona skyline and the vibrant energy of the surrounding desert landscape, it embodies a new era of luxury living, where art, architecture, and innovation converge to create a sanctuary unlike any other.

Luna Triple paneling was used to give the interior a natural yet contemporary look. The same product was also applied to the exterior cladding. This dual application creates a cohesive flow between indoor and outdoor spaces, highlighting the versatility and beauty of Lunawood ThermoWood®.

Ses Serretes, Spain

Ses Serretes, designed by Adrián Bedoya of BMA Arquitectura, is a modern, one-level house located in Spain. This concrete house features solar screens crafted from Lunawood ThermoWood®. Inside, the same material choices continue. The rough concrete pairs beautifully with walls covered in Luna Triple panels. The combination is both modern and timeless.

The same modern material palette continues througout the house.

WRP, France

This hillside residence demonstrates the seamless integration of architecture and landscape. Situated on a sloped site overlooking a picturesque valley, the home uses Lunawood ThermoWood® in its suspended ceilings, both indoors and outdoors. This consistent use of Luna Triple panel enhances the warm aesthetic of the home while maintaining a clean, contemporary design. The house’s long and narrow form is further complemented by the horizontal installation of Luna Triple panels in the ceilings, creating a sense of width and openness within the space.
