The 28,000 m² expansion of Parque Arauco Kennedy in Las Condes, Santiago, reimagines the shopping centre as a warm and carefully composed pedestrian environment. Designed by BL Arquitectos, the development was conceived to meet high standards of sustainable construction and to target LEED Gold certification
A Warmer Retail Journey
Luna SHP 19×117 ThermoWood® battens in a grey brown tone bring visual continuity to the corridors, transitions and interior-facing walls of the new area. The repeating timber elements introduce natural texture and rhythm, softening the conventional character of a large retail complex while creating a coherent architectural identity throughout the customer journey.

A Parametric Ceiling for Núcleo Paris
In the Núcleo Paris area, designed by Macchi Vergara Arquitectos, the same Lunawood profile forms a parametric wood-baffle ceiling. Its three-dimensional geometry conceals technical and air-conditioning services while allowing natural light to filter through and supporting acoustic control in this busy public space. The varying baffle arrangement adds depth overhead and reinforces the direction of movement through the interior.
ThermoWood® for Demanding Interiors
Lunawood was selected to combine the authentic character of wood with the performance required in a high-traffic commercial environment. Made from Nordic pine using only heat and steam, Lunawood battens are dimensionally stable and low-maintenance. Their brown and organic appearance adds warmth and definition to the project’s material palette, while the tactile quality of Lunawood ThermoWood® makes the expansive interiors feel more welcoming at a human scale.
